Get ready for a night filled with laughter and dances, a Broadway Musical you wouldn’t want to miss. 9 Works Theatrical together with Press Play Productions proudly presents ‘Sweet Charity’, a critically acclaimed dance comedy musical.

Sweet Charity is about a taxi dancer’s adventures and misadventures in the ways of love and who always gives her heart, and her earnings, to the wrong man. ‘Sweet Charity’ is a book written by Neil Simon, music done by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields. It is staged and choreographed by Bob Fosse whose name is synonymous to “ All That Jazz,” and “ Chicago”. 

This musical stars Nikki Gil, Ciara Sotto and Kris Lawrence to name some. Director Robbie Guevarra leads the team of ‘Sweet Charity’.

‘Sweet Charity’ has received various awards and nominations from Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards and Olivier Awards to name some.

Synopsis

‘Sweet Charity’ tells the story of an optimistic young woman, Charity Hope Valentine, who not only wears her heart on her sleeve, she's had it tattooed to her arm. 

As the play begins, Charity finds herself dumped by the married man on whom she had pinned all her hopes and dreams, and she vows never again to be taken advantage of by a man. But Charity is too trusting and soon finds herself involved with an Italian movie star. The actor, however, is no better than the other men Charity has dated, and once again she finds herself jilted and alone. The next night, however, as fate would have it, she finds herself trapped in an elevator with a claustrophobic tax accountant who soon sweeps Charity off her feet. 

The musical follows the misadventures of love encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity, who always gives her heart and her dreams to the wrong man. Through trials and tribulations, sweet Charity continues searching for love, wide-eyed and hopeful

'Sweet Charity’ will show on August 13, 8:00pm at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati. There is a limited number of performances available for block-buying and also for fundraising.
